Watching UHD football , colour different every game

Is it just down to my LG television that the picture setting needs changed almost for every game ? Cinema , standard and vivid have all been used recently . It's a UHD telly and not top of the range

Hi @whizzkid1 I have an LG 43UK6300PLB I have a custom setup for UHD content either F1 or Football the settings are saved so I'm not having to faff about when watching different content via  the Sky Q box.

My custom setting is using the Game Mode setting whilst watching UHD HLG/HDR  content (channel 401) then just tweaking each setting until I'm happy with the picture.

Picture Mode Settings

Game (User)

HDR Picture Mode

Backlight 100

Contrast 100

Sharpness 10

Hi @whizzkid1   Way too dark usually means that the TV has not switched to HDR. If you change your Sky Q mode to 2160p 8bit you will get a brighter picture (but of course, no HDR).

Cheers , I'll try this . Are the settings changes locked in simply by changing them and then logging out

No @whizzkid1

You don't have log out or switch off to Change settings.   You just need to confirm after changing the Resolution to 2160p 8 bit

@whizzkid1 who are you asking

If you don't want to tweak your LG picture settings as I posted above just change the Sky Q box to 2160p @8bit

Re: Watching UHD football , colour different every game

Thank you best of the best , unfortunately those settings are way too bright so I had to change back to standard from game mode . Hopefully the settings will be fine otherwise

Too dark when in HDR mode is usually a symptom of a TV that doesn't have high enough peak brightness and is especially noticeable on stuff that uses the HLG version of HDR such as sky and bbc (only used on iplayer so far) broadcasts.
