When I press ‘watch from start’ on a BBC channel it takes me to the iPlayer which plays what seems like an SD version. If I play the show direct from the iPlayer I get the correct HD version. Anybody else have this issue?

This is normal on BBC One in England. The Restart Programme feature uses the live stream on iPlayer and rewinds it back to the start of the programme, but the English regions on iPlayer aren't yet available in HD. The iPlayer streams are due to become HD soon so the issue will be resolved then.

Hi @swainsy No, SD upscaled to HD. That is why regional news programmes don't look so good on BBC HD.
Just to clairfy the BBC English regions on satellite are now all HD, with the exception of local news in some regions (in a few areas, local news is HD too). But the BBC One iPlayer streams which are used for the Watch From Start feature are currently all SD in England.

It is very confusing, all of our local BBC channels are in HD and works fine with live TV. however using iPlayer works fine until it gets to the local news when there is a message that it is not available in our region and tune to Ch101 which we obviously can't do using iPlayer.
