Can any one suggest a provider that is reliable and actually worth the money?
'Provider' of what?
Live television arrives over satellite, terrestrial broadcast or streaming.
Assuming Freesat isn't an option because that would inherit the same dish issue, you're looking at either Freeview through an aerial (without subscription channels) or a subscription bundle online from Sky (Glass/Stream) / Now, Virgin (if available at the property) or a minority player such as EE TV. For non-subscription via streaming, the new Freely app is the best option but that's only on some new television sets.
Realistically you need to decide on the content you wish to be consuming, and then work out which combination of delivery methods can get this to you.

@NeilG2 I presume you must be on SkyQ as you are asking on this section of the forum. As @TimmyBGood has said it would help to know what package you are on to get some idea of what you are looking for. If you go for a satellite based system requiring a dish, will you just have the same problem, or is it just the Sky satellite that is faulty.
As suggested you could go for an internet based system such as Sky Stream but then you would have to be sure you have a fast broadband.
So yes it would be helpful if we had more information..
