Use Sky Q and 2 mini boxes with Vodafone ultra router?
Hi all, we are considering moving from Sky bb to Vodafone to use their new ultra hub in the hope that it's 6e connectivity will improve our home WiFi compared to our current sr203 fro Sky. Is anyone here using this router alongside Sky Q and 2 mini boxes? All are currently connected together over WiFi with no problems. I don't really want to have to connect everything via Ethernet or powerline adapters. Just wanted to check if ultrahu. Will 'play nice' with Q and boxes over WiFi?

hi @grenterl
You need to be aware that when your home wifi is not SKY the minis will not use your wifi to connect to the main box - instead they connect using a wifi signal generated by the main box.
Thus it will depend on how good this wifi ios between the SKY Q boxes

So the main Sky Q box will still connect on its own network to the 2 mini boxes not over the router WiFi? I just want to make sure if I do change provider I don't have to jump through hoops to keep everything working.

Re: Use Sky Q and 2 mini boxes with Vodafone ultra router?
Why jot just get a wifi mesh and connect it to the Sky router rather than all that hassle of changing ISPs just to affect the in-home wifi?

Netgear's are very good. Don't have to get the latest wildly expensive wifi7 version.
Deco maybe.

Not overly helpful , not sure buying a mesh system £££ is any less hassle than changing ISP's . There should be no barrieers stopping people changing ISP. I did and saved a load of money will do again if there is a cheaper option next time.
Having your own mesh does have the advantage of making switching ISP's easy though as no settings have to be changed on your devices.
Anyway my Sky Q and Vodafone BB (500mb) and mesh (Tenda) work well but its not the pro II broadband.

I am pretty sure it's a lot less hassle. Sure it has a cost, but people often pay money to avoid hassle. The two things are not remotely the same.
I personally don't go for the cheapest broadband, I go for the fastest, as long as it has decent service and reliability.

Re: Use Sky Q and 2 mini boxes with Vodafone ultra router?
I did just attempt to have virgin 1gig installed at the house. It had just gone live in our area as a cable from pole service. However the bt pole is at the rear of our street and feeds to the back of each house. When the team turned up to install they refused as they said health and safety wouldn't let them work on the flat roof of our kitchen extension to get to where the cable would attach to our house . They made many calls to base and would not work , even though they said they could! Stuck with my 73mbs sky I think now.
