Use Airplay to stream from Sky Q to Homepod
It is possible, and relatively easy, to stream audio from an iPhone, iPad etc to the Sky Q box using Apple Airplay. It's also possible to use Bluetooth to achieve the same thing. But I want to do the opposite... I want to stream audio of TV programmes from the Sky Q box to my new Apple Homepod 2. But there doesn't seem to be any way to do this, which seems like a real shame. Why is this limited to working in only one direction? Is there any way to make this work?

Re: Use Airplay to stream from Sky Q to Homepod
Hi @Mookerchief The Sky Q box does not have a Bluetooth transmitter, apart from find my remote.

No. Q does not support transmit mode for audio. (Only receive)
Perhaps your TV supports it? If not, you are in the realm of 3rd party hardware to do it.

Sky Q is much older tech than the Apple Homepod and the Homepod is really designed to be used most effectively with Apple devices, not a soon-to-be-obsolete satellite PVR.
An Apple TV 4K box running the NOW TV app can be easily connected to a Homepod for sending high quality audio from Sky programmes and from any other app source you download.

As already pointed out (to a degree), by fizzdisco padam_padam @BenJoBanjo, due to the Sky Q hardware being long in the tooth these days, the only way to do what you want is to introduce an Apple TV 4K.
You would then follow the instructions here, assuming you have a TV with an eARC port.
Having done this myself as a bit of an experiment, I can confirm I actually got it working on an older TV which only had an original ARC port, and an OG HomePod.
Sound was good, even though it was a single speaker.
