Upgraded to sky glass, never told I'd need to return Sky q

3 weeks ago I upgraded to Sky Glass - today I've just received a package with a note to return the Sky Q box.

I disposed of it locally as I had no idea it was meant to be returned to sky!

Research on here reveals ownership is sky etc, but I had no idea and I wasn't told during my upgrade. Been a Sky customer 20 years and that wasn't a thing when I upgraded each prior box.

Learn something new every day.. but what can I do?

There are a few going cheap on an online market place but that kinda defeats the point?

Thanks!

You'll have to pay the non-return fee of £117 or £135.

The Q contract is crystal clear on ownership and the implications of failing to return them.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@refjamie as @PandJ2020 say you will need to contact Sky let them know what has happened and they will more than likely ask for a non-return fee

I wouldn't be tempted to purchase one from somewhere else to return it as these may be listed by Sky as not returned and they will have a different seriel number to the one you had

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
