Upgrade to Sky UHD. Why do I need an engineer visit?

I am upgrading to Sky Ultra HD and need to replace the box to a 2TB UHD box.  Why do I need an engineeer to do this?     Can I not just replace the box myself?       I am assuming I do not need a new dish or cables from the dish to my new box?    Does anyone know?

If it's a Q to Q swap then you don't strictly need an engineer (although some people would like one).

All you can do is call Sky and see if they'll perform a box swap.  (But this has some risk as many forget to remove their viewing card and the PSU may be different)

I have an engineer booked for two weeks time but just wondered why he is needed and if he/she will re route cables etc.

No cables will need to be changed unless there's an issue with the existing ones.
