Upgrade from Sky HD to Q - can I move old sky box content?

Hi - I am about to upgrade my box from HD to Q. On my HD box I have several shows / films which my children appeared in 10+ years ago which are no longer being broadcast which I would like to save. 

is there a way to either transfer content from HD box to Q box or to save the shows on the HD box somewhere else?

There's no way to transfer content from your Sky+HD box to a Sky Q box. At best you could copy your recordings in real time and standard definition to a DVD recorder or to a computer hard disk via a video capture device.
