@Laing1  I think your missing the point most if not all these programs exist without SL in the first place aswell as a signed option but the only dlc available or that downloads is the signed option.

@thequeenschees  Im not missing any point as I have said before it is the broadcaster that supplies the downloads to Sky and labels the downloads Sky only host them so you really need to be badgering the broadcaster ie BBC or ITV who blame Sky you can also try viewer relations at viewerR@sky.uk and they will blame the broadcasters

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Unwanted sign language in recordings downloaded

I have struggle with. Here's what to do. Once downloaded to your box got to available now, the episode you want then beneath that all formats. It then offers high and standard definition. It has been my experience standard definition is without BSL and High is with. So while you don't have the high definition at least it will actually cover the screen to the size you bought and not reduced with a distraction.

Re: Unwanted sign language in recordings downloaded

Unfortunately you, and several others on this forum, have not taken any notice of what is actually being complained about. Programme series  are set by the user to record as normal (ie. without being in the early morning or with SL showing} h o w e v e r halfway through the series (please do not take that literally) they then start to record - for no apparent reason - with BSL which unfortunately ruins the majority of viewer's (sic) enjoyment. To those earlier contributors of the 'being nice' persuasion nobody, but absolutely nobody, on this thread was in any way being disrespectful to those who require BSL, merely pointing out that this version completely ruins their own enjoyment of the programme and they are perfectly entitled to that, almost certainly, majority viewpoint. Whether it is the BBC, ITV or Sky that is responsible is immaterial - it needs to be fixed on the Sky platform this anomaly appears on and they  (Sky) need to respond - even with only an explanation but preferably with a workaround.

Re: Unwanted sign language in recordings downloaded

Having tried Liam49 's suggestion of changing 'All Formats' to SD for episodes of several different programmes in 'Available Now' before downloading them this has worked every time so far. The only obvious downside is that they are not in HD or UHD.  It is also worth pointing out that the HD versions of exactly the same episodes (from BBC, ITV, 5 etc.) all have BSL  - which to my mind would probably lead Endeavour, Vera, Father Brown, Sister Boniface et al. to Sky's offices.
