Unable to download from U&W

I have the basic entertainment package on Sky Q. When I try to download from U&W a message says I do not have the correct subscription. As far as I'm aware I should be able to do this. I've checked settings and downloads are set to SD not HD. Can you advise please?

hi @JustMyView 

When you say changed the settings to SD, may I just check   that this is the download preference set  to SD in
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

Hi @JustMyView   Just to clarify, by basic entertainment channels you mean Sky Signature.

Hi, I've just checked my Sky account and I have 'Sky Essentials'. It is a basic package where I get the free view chanels, (including U&W which I am trying to download from ).

Hi @JustMyView   I suspect you are getting confused with Essentials on Sky Glass & Stream. Sky Q Essentials is a completely different product and only includes https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-essentials

Hi, you are probably correct- I am totally confused! I think I'll have to give Sky a call to see if they can advise me. Being a woman of a certain age I do find this Sky Q extremely difficult to navigate. Thank you for your assistance though, most appreciated.

If you have a Sky Q box then it's 'Television Essentials' (free to air channels only)

On Glass & Stream the confusinly named 'Essential TV' has Sky Atlantic, Netflix Standard with Adverts and Discovery+ Basic plus the FTA channels.

U&W is available to watch via Essentials on SKY Q  as it is Free To Air (double checked using my multisat box)

When it was just W it was originally only part of the base subscription but became FTA when they introduced the HD version ( I think that was the timing) - although the HD channel has now been discontinued

Thus @JustMyView I am not sure why you are being prompted to upgrade for SD downloads - can you let us know the name of the programme ?

I'm trying to download the first 2 episodes of 'The Good Fight' on U&W. I've recorded subsequent ones, but I missed the first 2, and to understand the storyline properly, I really need to watch from the beginning.

Please can you confirm, which Series so I can try downloading in SD

Edit BTW do you have access to the U app on your TV or other device ?

Hi, yes I have access to the U app on my tv, but when I try to download from there I get the same message about not having the correct subscription.

That is strange as the U App doesn't need a subscription just a sign in
