Unable to download drama channel tells me to upgrade

I cannot download anything from Drama channel.  Keeps telling me to upgrade.  I have a basic terrestrial package.  Have updated software twice and still nothing

Terrestrial? Do you mean "Essentials"?

@Chodley 

Hi well that was what the guy at sky called it! A have a basic basic package no Sky channels, so would have assumed I could still download content from the free channels but keep getting red button telling me to upgrade when trying to download Drama.

@Simpin49 as far as I am aware the Essentials package give you access to all the free to air channels but not to the catchup/boxsets. 

If you have a smart TV then  UK TV  do have the UKTV play app you can use to access shows shown on their channels

hi @Simpin49 

 

although it may not give you access try changing your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences
(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

 I have already done that, plus I have also checked that software and hardware and updated software but still not having any luck

I think @Laing1 means the app on a Smart Tv or Tablet etc & not the UKTV section of catch up/Ondemand on the SKY Q box

 

BTW I just realised my previous message about SD is probably irrelevant for Drama as it doesn't have a HD channel anyway

@Simpin49 as per my post i don't think you get catchup/boxsets when you subscribe to Sky Essentials I was meaning if you have a smart TV you will need to download the UKTV play app to your TV and access the programmes through the app on your TV and not the Sky box

Ahhh ok, next question then (sorry I am a pensioner) can try and work out most things, but sometimes I'm never sure .....how do I download the app onto the TV please!
