Reboot your Q box @Neil1888

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Re: Tv says waiting for tv schedule

The reboot option works as I have had to do this once a week lately. Sky really should get this fixed as it must be a known problem to them considering how many people have said it on this forum. Hurry up sky, we all pay a lot for our services which should work properly.

Re: Tv says waiting for tv schedule

Had to reboot SkyQ box Monday morning, did this this Monday before and the one before that. Now  am noticing that from next Tuesday afternoon EPG is waiting for TV schedule again. Will follow all help again but reboot will have to happen again. SKY you need to sort this out - the issue has been happening for so long and for so many people surely you must realise there is a problem with something - software, metadata - please fix this issue as it is an a absolute pain. Am going on holiday and want to set up some recordings for next week, but can't until reboot.

Can all these superusers stop saying reboot the boxes, it's something from 1999.

It doesn't fix the issue that has been about for ages with thousands of users, sky?

Re: Tv says waiting for tv schedule

Hi

We got Sky Q about 6 months ago, and we have to do this evrry month.

I am an IT engineer, and I think I have a reason -   my internet provider (Not Sky) has changed the DCHP IP address we get from the ISP, and aftet that the SkyQ box goes belly up.  The DHCP eefresh is.usually every 33 days.

But yes, this is something that Sky should sort out.  It should be fixable with a software or firmware update.

That's a interesting solution! Didnt give that one a thought. Maybe customers that have sky bb dont have any issues 🤔

Eh? Strange first post. Are you a bot? It's not a solution but an attempt to explain the cause.

DHCP addresses shouldn't be reissued if the client (the router in his case) stays active anyway. The expiry time only normally applies once the client disconnects.

Apart from which I'm 90% sure the TV Guide comes from the satellite, not the internet.

Re: Tv says waiting for tv schedule

This has nothing to do with IP addresses, DHCP or anything else to do with the Internet. I am IT engineer too with over 40 years in the business dealing with everything from basics to full network design and installation.

I also have a fixed IP and have this rediculous loss of the guide whether or not I reset my router, Draytek, or not. It makes no difference in the slightest. This is a Sky issue and nothing independent. Simple as that.
