Trying to activate my own Netflix account. Previously logged in to someone else’s.

Im trying to activate my own Netflix account. Previously logged in to someone else’s, I've signed out of their account and am now trying to set up my own as I pay for it through sky. My device when I click on sign up is taking me to a blue sky error page error: DSU_508 saying that I already have an account. I have spoken to Netflix and they confirmed I do not have an account, so I then called sky and got told to just sign in with my sky ID login and it would automatically set up. This did not work. Please help me. I'm wondering if I just set up a normal Netflix account online and pay the set up fee and then log in on my tv, would that fix the problem. I know that's silly to pay when I'm already paying but I know that they then should link my Netflix bill to my sky bill.

This is a known bug, that can sometimes occur.

Descibed in the Sky article below.

Give what it says a try.

This is a known error that can take a few tries to fix. It often occurs when upgrading packages, which can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 hours to finish uploading on your viewing card.

Unplug your Sky Q box from the mains and wait 30 seconds. Unplug all cables and your viewing card. Plug it all back in and go through the boot up process. If this doesn't work you may need to call for a refresh signal. 150 if you have Sky Mobile or Talk or the number under "Need more help" on this page - Sky Help | Sky.com

Hi

Did you manage to get this issue resolved?

I'm having exactly the same problem and Sky have exhausted all their angles and don't know what else to do so have directed me to Netflix who've said they can't do anything and the only way around it is to cancel Netflix with Sky and get it through them 😄

Yes my issue got sorted. There was lots of backwards and forward phone calls between sky and Netflix, all said the same to me but I did eventually get somebody at sky who did manage to activate my account in the end. I hope you get yours sorted too.
