Seems I'm not alone here.
Multiroom box dropped out at an inopportune time again last night.
Are the new ones any better? Is it worth asking? Paying for a service they're not consistantly providing.

@Skyedriver I would just cancel it, cause more hassle then anything else, can always just watch sky on a tablet or your phone without having to pay the extra

It would honestly drive you mad. saying I dont have iternet connecting when the d** mini box is wired. happens over and over again. got them out twice replaced mini boxes replaced main box, works for a while then bang, keeps dropping gone very very annoying. sky a joke at this stage

I read this post with interest
Our house has BT discs that use Wi-Fi at about 30mbps. Nothing has changed with this set-up for several years
We have a sky booster
The last few months has seen frequent loss of picture, to complete loss of picture through connection problems on a Sky Q mini in our bedroom.
I reset the router and switched all the sky boxes off - nothing improved.
I have another mini box in the living room, so I moved that to the bedroom. Low and behold not had an issue since.
So it would appear swapping out the Minibox solved my problem.

I moved house in May and changed to a Mesh router setup in August. Was having constant issues with my Sky Q box and the mini box in a bedroom. After much playing around and listening to this area I now have a stable system.
1) Ethernet hard-wire Sky Q box
2) Scanned my Wi-Fi for interference. (TP Link Deco option). It found interference and switched channels automatically
I suspect letting it scan and find the best channel may be the total solution but now it shows the Sky Q as wired and the sky mini as wired (it isn't but as it has its own sky network, it effectively is).
I have great speed and everything now just works as it should.
Hope this helps someone as your comments caused me to dig into the settings to fix things!

We"re struggling too...
Two mini boxes. Main box hardwired direct to Sky router. TP Link Deco hybrid mesh (it uses WiFi and power-over-mains to mesh). SkyQ mesh turned off. Fixed ip addresses set for all three boxes.
The two mini boxes frequently drop out to the blue screen error message saying connection to main box lost. With luck, they'll reconnect within 20-30 secs. If not, we have to force a reset.
Lately (last week or three) the minis occasionally stick their fingers in their ears and refuse to react properly to the remotes. It's not batteries...! Some functions (basic menu movements) work but often can't activate a function (i.e. use the centre button to select the highlighted option - or things like pause not working - or even the power button - in which case a physical power off is required).
These are pretty early mini boxes - we've had them for several years.
Getting fed up! The Deco mesh seems to work quite well - the network continues to work even when the mini boxes have issues.

Is this on Sky BB?

Look in the Deco mesh settings under network optimization. Do a scan. It may find interference and change channels. I suspect Sky and or neighbour wifis are interfering.

Actually no, interference doesn't seem to be an issue.
I've done a number of Deco conflict scans and (after the first try) they almost always come back as Perfect - we live on the edge of town with few close neighbours (only one of which we can even see their SSIDs) and have thick stone exterior walls.
Our Deco PX50s aren't just running over WiFi either - they also use powerline networking (and yes, I do make a mental note to check if anything such as a tumble drier/dishwasher/etc. happen to be running - and 9+/10 times they are not).
Aside from anything, I'm suspicious about the way the mini boxes have been occasionally becoming semi-responsive to the remotes (see previous post) and also sometimes getting locked into an unresponsive picture-in-picture view (basically the live preview window from the programme guide is displayed on screen but the rest of the screen is empty and the unit becomes entirely unresponsive). I've tried updating the firmware/software but it has made zero difference.

My broadband is with sky and have the same issue.... always did. Old technology not worth the money....

Hi all,
I think I've cracked the issue, it's been running perfectly fine for 2 months now. This is what I had to do though.
- remove recordings. It will full so I just cleared them down to below 30%
- with a deco booster, I've plugged it into my main box (so all the sky boxes are showing as wired)
that's it. I'd been having issues for over a year, doing all the things I'm seeing on this post to get it working. Since the above I've not had a single issue.
hope this helps other
