Toshiba tv and sky q

I just got a new Toshiba tv. Set up when fine and sky tv was working. I set up sky remote. The issue is when I switch tv off and on sometimes sky q works and sometimes it's a snowy screen. Any ideas what's wrong?

It's on the wrong input (internal tuner by the sounds of a snowy screen)

Turn the Q on first so that it wakes the TV up by sending it a signal via the hdmi cable. The TV should then switch on and change to the hdmi input the Q is attached to.

This behaviour will only work if the Q has HDMI Control set to ON under settings/Audio Visual

AND

the TV has whatever Toshiba call HDMI-CEC turned on as well.
