Toshiba TV and sky Q issue

New Toshiba TV. Both HDMI ports working. Have checked this with the Xbox. 

When I turn everything on at the mains the hdmi receives the signal from the sky Q box . Shows it on the screen that the Sky Q box is starting up . Receives the signal but no picture .

Anyway of rectifying this ? 

All help greatly appreciated.

@Jack1973_ with your tv on and the Q box on showing a green light try pressing the following burttons on your remote 

home 1080 home and see if you get a picture

I have a vague recollection that this has come up before with Toshibas, and the solution was to factory reset the tv, then download the latest firmware. Another forum member might be able to confirm.

@Mark39 now you mention it that sound vaugly familiar

 

the toshiba we have for our spare bedroom worked straight out of the box ?
