The new remote Sky sent me won’t pair with my a mini box

There is a sky signal at the box but I can't change channel or operate any remote function. The new remote has new batteries and seems to be working fine because the red light is showing when buttons are pressed. I can turn the q mini box off and on manually but that's all. HELP!!!
