Hi @Edward3345   That is the reason why I have not replied to you. As far as I know, that is impossible. We need an image of the rear of your box, showing the connections.

hi @MightyQuinn

Whilst communal  feeds are usually used with apartment blocks, it is  quite possible (& in this case I am fairly certain) that @Edward3345  receives a Communal feed and this being the case may have no knoweldge of the location of a dish in the system which could be miles away.

Hi @nigea99   Yes, I was hoping that they would show us the communal feed connection.

Please just accept that you have a satellite television box, it's working, therefore, somewhere at the other end of the cables that are plugged into it, is a satellite dish.

Re: The future of Sky Q

The sky box is situated in a solid wood cabinet on a narrow shelf and I cannot access it on my own. I can't get to the back of the box,the sky engineer put it in and all the leads go through a small hole in the back of the cabinet.I watched him install it for me. There was a hdmi lead to the modem,a power lead to the mains and another lead to my TV on the wall above the cabinet.......that's all..

Then you will just have to accept what you have been told by others that there MUST be a Sky dish connected to your Sky Q box... that's the only way it can receive broadcasts.

I am just another Sky customer!

I presume you have seen my earlier posts regarding a communal feed

Re: The future of Sky Q

  • And as already stated,I do Not have any dish,there is no dish in the cul- de-sac where I live.I just have fibreber500 from sky to the house,the cable for this enters my home from a telegraph pole in the street. Also there's leads to other houses in the street from the same pole...???An engineer from sky fitted this putting a very small white box fastened to the outside brick wall of my house and then drilled a hole into my living room and then to my router via a small box he installed on my inside wall and a telephone cable as well to the router for my house phone....

@Edward3345  do not concern yourself.

As I have said, I am confident that you have what we call a communal feed.

These are not common outside of apartment blocks but sometimes are provided by indivual Fibre providers or on new build estates.

In these case, as I have said, there will be a dish but may even be many miles from you and thus you would not be aware of it
