@bob1234  I asked the question. Only offer to Q customers if contract ended or on 31 day notice period.

@Ben1980 that will be because some people who had just entered a new 18 month contract for Q swapped to stream to get out of the Q contract then cancelled stream giving the 31 day notice thus cancelling Sky completely with no penalties this will be a way to stop that happening if you are still in contract on Q

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband

@Ben1980Well I managed to order it and saved about £20pm, however Sky did not want to "sell" it. I was told it was a downgrade from Q with no recording capability (true) but she then tried to sell me Glass not sure the difference between Glass and stream is in function.

It's essentially the same OS/GUI and probably the same SoC running the show.

All the streaming and server-side functionality is identical.  Obviously Glass also has the TV hardware gubbins and interface options for LCD panel, LED array, speakers, HDMI input etc, and a partly functional Freeview capability.

Easiest to think of Glass as a Stream puck mounted inside a not particularly distinguished television set with somewhat better than average audio output.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

I think it may be closer to being a Puck that has it's own Display Panel attached rather than thinking of it as a TV in the traditional sense as it is so reliant on the frequently updated system SKY OS & UI which can, imo, too easily 'break' leaving customers without services until fixed - Freeview is only a 'backup' on Glass
