I'm guessing after several years of ignored complaints that Sky won't do anything about this. I'm getting this hassle on ethernet as well now, turned off one of the mini boxes and all is well. I have zero issues with any other device in my house, I have excellent WiFi coverage, I have ethernet on all three boxes, and everything has been switched out at some point, but still the Sky boxes can't work together.
Considering what I pay for this 'service' I'm fast coming to the conclusion that it's time to end my relationship with Sky, one that goes back a very long time. They have demonstrated over a long period they don't care about their customers.

I've had much fewer issues keeping the 2 sky mini boxes switched on. I thought the issue might be something to do with conflicting OS versions across 2 or more Sky boxes on the same network.
Not 100% certain.
I have another theory which I will get around to trying one day. I use a non Sky router which I think is a common theme with the issue here. I wonder if I used a SSID on my router that would mimic the Sky SSID format., in other words would it help if the main Sky box thought it was talking to a Sky router due to the Skyxxxxx SSID? I know enough about networks to know that's not usually how an app or sub system identifies other equipment on the network but it is worth a test one day.
I can ignore this of course if Sky router users also suffer the same irritating issue.

My Sky Q box constantly disconnects from the wifi. I just use TP link to have the ethernet connected. Every other device I have no issues with.

Wired is always possible. Just depends how much work / disruption you're willing to put up with.
powerlines are the most convenient way to do wired without getting out the power tools.
wifi mesh nodes with the sky boxes connected to them over ethernet is another, more expensive way.

Alas I'm just not prepared to be doing anything that costs me more money come 30 days before contract renewal I'll be kissing it goodbye and live with out its how it is...or just live without the WiFi I only need it for amazon prime and that's v limited...great ideas though thank you

There are two solutions for this.
1. Get sky broadband
2. Get rid of Sky TV
I went with Option 2 and have since realised how completely irrellivant Sky programming is in 2024. 😂😂
GG Sky. I used to have every product they offered but they are firmly focussed on new business. 👏🏻

If you have a plug socket near your sky box and one near your router you can use an ethernet cable, only run small Ethernet cables from each plug.

If only my router is miles away upstairs with a landing abd stairs away it would look horrendous so unfortunately it's a no goer...as I type my sky q box is disconnected been like it all week its rarely connected!!

You don't have a spare plug socket next to your router and a spare plug socket next to your sky Q box? As I have the router on another floor to the sky Q box, they do work good those TP links as they use the same electrical circut for the ethernet so you don't need miles of cables everywhere.

I will investigate thank-you for this.

Hi,
been having the same with sky Q but found the best way is to first disconnect router then add password on mail sky box.
hope this helps

Yeah. Except I moved to ethernet and after a short period of stability it's now doing it in this setup too.
Honestly, I have no issues with anything else. It's their box and their software designed to cause issues with anything that's not Sky broadband. Every box has been switched out in the past, even replaced the router. Well I've had enough now. This isn't a service. All the stuff that made it even barely worth paying their ludicrous prices just isn't there without internet.
I'm done. This is how they treat their customers **bleep**. Odd business model, but they've lost mine.
