Switching to sky q is not going well

We currently have sky+ with multiroom. We rang up yesterday to order sky q. They have us booked in with an engineer for the 28th. Realized this evening that they've canceled the ability to record on the multiroom box and to watch the programs already recorded. Am I going to have to ring on Monday to cancel sky q to get this functionality back? Or can they reinstate it while we wait for the engineer. One functioning box is absolutely not an option over Christmas. There's already been arguments here tonight. I'm actually shocked that they didn't think this might be something they should mention when we rang yesterday

Hi @Whiplashy86

Sky Q mini boxes can set and watch Recordings on the main Q box (apart from UHD).

However there are no separate planners and all boxes have access to all recordings.

We don't have the sky q equipment yet. It's coming on the 28th. 2 sky+ boxes, with one now only offering live tv

Yes I understand now @Whiplashy86

Wasn't aware that Sky can restrict viewing to one Sky+ box.

If they have switched you account immediately to Sky Q then your access to existing boxes is limited I'm sure.

I suspect only by speaking to Sky directly will you establish what they have done.

Sky should be able to reinstate the record/playback functions if you give them a call. Have the number of the VIewing Card in the Multiscreen box handy.

@Whiplashy86

You don't have to wait til Monday to contact Sky (unless you're based in the ROI).

Yeah I'm ROI. I already tried to ring them at 10am this morning when I noticed the price they emailed me is nearly double what they said on the phone.
