Switching on LG OLED55C24LA TV using Sky remote often does not recognise Sky Q is switched on

This issue seems to be getting worse. Switching on the LG TV using the Sky remote switches on both the TV and the Sky Q box however the TV shows a message saying there is no signal (it also prompts to switch on the set-top box, however selecting yes doesn't help).

Turning the TV off and on again using the Sky remote sometimes fixes this eventually. One method that does work is going through the LG menus (using the LG magic remote) and finding HDMI settings and toggling the SIMPLINK then magically the LG TV finda the Sky signal!

This is driving us mad - any suggestions please?

I've posted on one of these before and it's one of those weird ones.

I've also got an LG and have seen something similar.

First of all there's no pattern, it can be first time switching on in a day or randomly later in the day.

But yes press the Sky button on the sky remote switches on the TV and the sky box but the TV shows something like no signal/your set top box doesn't seem to be on etc.

What I have found is that if you just sit tight and wait a minute (maybe 2, but if any longer than that, move on). I have found that after this pause the sky box will appear as expected. It looks like some kind of delay or mis match in hdmi that causes the TV to not recognise the box at first.

What I will say as a starting point, this "advice" assumes that the sky box worked fine the last time the pair were on and I mean press the sky button and nothing else. To reiterate I'm saying to just do nothing after pressing sky and seeing the error but also not saying to sit looking at a no signal screen for 15-30 minutes either.

Not promising this is a fix for everyone but worth a try.

Use the LG Magic Remote to control your Sky Q box set it up via device connector.

That works for most of the Sky functions but not pause TV or record, there are no buttons for those

I agree with the above, when we first had our LG tv all you had to do was turn on the sky box and tv with the sky remote and after a couple of minutes it would go on. Now this doesn't happen and we have to go back after turning it on with the sky remote and then use the lg remote to go to  BT TV set-Top Box (HDML) which is long winded and frustrating!
