Recently moved from broadband to full fibre and have old router , do I throw away or do Sky want it back , if so how does this work

Contact Sky and ask them. They will either send you a prepaid envelope to return it or say it's yours do as you see fit. Keep it until you hear back from them.
Even if they then say you can chuck it etc. make sure you keep a copy of the reply just in case that in a years time their IT system decides that you now need to return it or pay a £60 penalty!

It depends which hub it is. Sky may not request the Sky Q router and other now obsolete ones back.
