Most people don't realise but, unless you have Sky Broadband, the Q mini boxes only ever connect to the main Q box via there own 5ghz mesh, they do not connect to your router.
If you are having issues it usually means the mini is too far away from the main Q box or trying to connect to the wrong thing or there is interference to the Q mesh from your Swift router set up.
I am with BT, to prevent my Smart Hub 2 from interfering with the Sky Q mesh I had to change the 5ghz frequency in the hub away from MHz channel 36, which Sky Q uses.

I understand that but why would the main box keep loosing internet it has a node next to it and the router is around 4m from it ?
i have had issues with my q mini boxes for years with BT so nothing new but never the main box
I can sit and watch the main box go on and off over and over again ?

Usually because the main Q box only connects to the 2.4ghz band of a non Sky router and there is then a problem which forces the connection to drop, like band steering or similar on the router (no seperate bands).
I can't diagnose that issue on an anonymous forum, but if it has been happening on your previous ISP and now Swift, have you had a Sky engineer out?
Is it possible to connect the main Q box to the router via ethernet if it is only 4M away?

Potentially yes but it does say that wiring to router cuts out the Wi-Fi to the a boxes is this correct as when you go through the set up you turn off the Wi-Fi to get the wired option ?

And that's it. The main Q box will create a 5ghz mesh for the mini boxes to connect to.
