Swapping house with someone else who has sky. Do we need engineer?

I am swapping houses with someone next Thursday, I had booked for my sky to be put into that house on the 25th however when the person swapping with phoned to do the same they were told I would need to cancel my appointment. 

Is it possible just to swap and put our own devices into the others cables without an engineer? As we both need Wi-Fi asap do to medical devices needing Wi-Fi straight away

You've posted in the Q forum, but appear to be referring to broadband rather than television?

There's no mechanism to deal with a 'swap': the viability of hardware changeover depends on which broadband technology each property is currently using.
