Surely a +38% in price for subscription is unreasonable?

Been with Sky 24 years, I subscribe to Sky Sports, Cinema and my monthly fees are increasing from £65 to over £100. Link to this increase is the loss of Eurosport, some cricket, rugby and other sporting events, so paying more for less? It is really becoming unaffordable now, so dropping the extras like Sports, Cinema and possibly looking at Freesat if sadly have to leave Sky. Welcome your thoughts,

@Frazman2
If you haven’t recently changed your subscription, prices go up for either the annual price increase (April in the UK), when your discounts have ended, or a combination of the two.

Sky will have told you the date any discount was ending when you took it out so if it has ended you’ll be paying the full undiscounted price.

Perhaps compare a previous bill to your latest bill and see where the amounts differ
www.sky.com/bill.

If you’re no longer in a discounted minimum term, or its ending soon the best new discounts are normally acquired by calling Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will now require a 24 month minimum term contract. Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by. If you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer may no longer be available when you call back.

@Frazman2 Sounds like your discount term is ending. In which case you've enjoyed a 38% discount. Phone up and negotiate a new one.

Give notice to leave if you're not happy with that.  That may extract a better offer but don't bank on it.

I have had enough really, paying more for less, cinema is rarely for my age bracket and too much sport  has moved to TNT. So thinking seriously about setting up Freesat and Now TV for occasional items of interest?

I don't really look at 'discount term' I am more concerned about value. Sky could give me a 95% discount, but off what and is it still affordable?

Agreed, if Sky doesn't represent value to you, it's sensible to cancel.
