Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@SkyQscott This has been an ongoing issue since a fire at the playout centre a couple of weeks ago https://rxtvinfo.com/2021/frustration-over-channel-4-and-5-subtitle-problems-grow

In this day and age its a joke, I was 3/4 of the way through married at first sight UK when they stopped so couldn't watch the last episodes and 24 hours in police custody I can't watch either. Some of my recordings do break up a bit and the mini box stops working so thought it was the main box not working properly

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@SkyQscott I sympathise with your situation, however regardless of any day & age if there was a fire then what do you expect Sky to do?
Channels concerned are not controlled by Sky, and as explained in the link I posted the channles are working to get everything back.
I doubt this is a just a simple issue, if it were then you would have subtitles.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@SkyQscott I appreciate your frustration but there is nothing anyone can do about a fire. Being a VIP Diamond customer has no relevance unfortunately.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe main problem for me is that they are still showing the subtitle marker but not actually showing them.

I like many others rely on subtitles to get enjoyment on the programmes being slightly deaf, therefore whilst I appreciate that there has been a fire and there are obviously problems resolving this issue, it would be appreciated if someone from Sky would advise customers what the problem is and approximately how long before it can be rectified.

While not Sky's fault and there is nothing Sky can do, I agree that it would be good if Sky did email everyone to tell them of the ongoing problems and what happened.
As for recordings, I've been lucky and had no issues so far. The only thing I get is the line on the upper left of the screen for Channel 4 and the black & white square on Channel 5.

Channel 4 are responsible for this @Mojo0912 and they have released this statement:

Basically the backup system that was in place also failed.
