Sports app with no satellite signal?
I've had no satellite signal on my Sky Q since NYE, engineer was due today and has just cancelled my appointment until the end of the week.
I was planning to watch a football match live tomorrow night on the Sky Sports + app on my Sky Q box, but I'm concerned this won't work without a satellite signal. I know technically it's a stream but does it still need my satellite signal to be connected for authorisation or anything like that?

hi @R4E
Normally apps work for a short while without a Satellite signal but this all depends on when the next authorisation signal is due.
However, IIRC the Sports + app on SKY Q does do some check when starting to watch some events - I remember doing a test for someone a while ago, I will see if I can find the discussion
It will work on a tablet or other mobile device

Re: Sports app with no satellite signal?
Yes but the live matches aren't until tomorrow which is a bit too late to make other viewing plans.

Re: Sports app with no satellite signal?
Thanks - I thought that might be the case but would be good to know for certain.

Re: Sports app with no satellite signal?
Thanks - that doesn't sound promising. Also seems ridiculous that the streaming app needs a satellite signal to work when it woud work perfectly on sky stream or sky glass!
