Yeah I had the rugby on UHD on 401 this morning and the sound was fine. Also now with the EFL. Also fine. I assumed it was just certain broadcasts but it would seem there's more to it than that if different viewers are getting the issue with different broadcasts.
Still no responses from Sky on here. Irritating. Someone on here said they'd marked it as solved I think. Does that mean Sky ignore comments past that point? Certainly looks that way.

I don’t have an issue as such with sound it just keeps freezing for a couple of seconds really annoying when watching live sport.

Also have the same issue. It's really bad on main event UHD, but also get it on other channels. Watching the rugby now and the sound has cut out a few times in the past few minutes.
I've tried everything., upgraded to 8k certified HDMI cables, tired optical connection, reset settings on Sky Q box, full factory reset etc and the issue just won't go away.
So fed up now I think I'll be cancelling when contract is up in 7 weeks.
I pay a small fortune for this service and this just spoils the enjoyment.
I've searched this forum and see this is not an isolated case, but Sky don't seem to have a fix for this...

Yea agreed sky is a pretty bad deal right now

New firmware downloaded to Sky Q box overnight Saturday, but sound issue is still there 🤬

Come on Sky, what's the issue here?
Watching TV via the apps on my TV don't have any sound issues at all.

We have been having this problem for sometime now had a sky engineer out to check over the equipment which is all working perfectly the sound only drops out on the football on Sky sports UHD all other channels including other sports & channels are working fine.
The problem is a broadcasting issue it wouldn't surprise me if all sky customers are having this issue which has been going on now for a good couple of years.
It's a pain when you have to turn the volume up when watching a game & when they are in the tv studio then rush to get the tv remote to turn the sound down when the adverts come on as the sound returns back to normal.
The only way around this is if you have a Dolby Digital/Atmos amplifier which sorts this problem.

FYI I'm also getting it on Discovery HD. No other channels as yet. I experienced it before Christmas for a while and it stopped. Now it's back. Switching the Sky box output to Normal instead of Dolby Digital cures it but I'm not going to do that just for one channel.

Just got sky stream, noticed it straight away on sport main event. Adverts are ok. Cant be this simple but i went to sound settings & moved it from auto to try the other settings, they. were ok, but when i put it back to auto the sound was then still ok? So far its been cured?

Last post in April on this issue, has everyone given up due to sky total lack of response, as this is still happening and very tempremental.
Today watching spanish gp on F1 UHD, and audio is cutting out for 1 secound. So enoying when your paying Sky premium bucks for such a rubbish service.

Lets mark this as unawsered as clearly not fixed.

I have just noticed the same issue is now happening to me on Sky sports UHD, sounds cuts out every few mins for a sec !!!

Yes, started again today on main event on the F1. However, F1 UHD channel was fine.

This is what I don't understand, how it's ok for some people, but not others.
What's different?
