Re: Sound dropout on main event

Yeah it's back, has been for a week or so now. Only happens on main event, use the other channel it's on, it's still uhd and Dolby Atmos but with no audio drop outs.

Re: Sound dropout on main event

Still happening, it's ruining the exerperience for me. Seems to be sports main event in UHD which struggles

All these new adverts regarding HDR picture on UHD and that's when it suffers the most

you expect better from Sky these days especially with individual apps seeming to perform better

Re: Sound dropout on main event

Yes happening again. It had been fixed but totally unacceptable that there has not been a permanent fix. Come on Sky what is going on?

Re: Sound dropout on main event

Yes, it is as big an issue as ever. With the Masters Golf just around the corner and no UHD option on Sky Sports Golf, let's hope it is fixed in the next few days.

Re: Sound dropout on main event

I decided to complain to Sky directly about this and said we were all experiencing the same issue. I've received two emails back telling me to follow a link and check the information, when you follow the link it's basically a google search results page of steps to try. ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH

Re: Sound dropout on main event

It's just not good enough. Can someone from  Sky comment on this forum to inform us what to do and what Sky are doing about it?

Hi all,

Thank you so much for continuing to engage on this thread.

There have been two issues identified off the back of last nights game.

1st issue, Lip sync during the broadcast of the Sky Sports Liverpool & Chelsea game (and some other content).  This was picked up during the broadcast and resolved.

2nd issue, Sound Dropout on Main Event UHD. This issue has been identified at the same time & is currently being investigated.  That being said, we are interested in any feedback on future UHD events and keen to hear back if things are fixed, or if more works required on this one.

Please do continue replying to the thread if your issue relates to Sound dropout.  Any other sound related issues, please start a new thread.

Marking this as the answer (for now) to make it easier for new visitors of the thread to see the most up to date information.

Thanks

Hi @Daniel-F . You can probably see above that issues are still occurring.

Re: Sound dropout on main event

Hi Daniel

please note that it's just not just the sound issues, I still get the odd black screen for split second from time to time. This disengages my tv from HDR but comes back on as my particular tv shows a HDR logo as soon as you switch on to any channel or signal which is producing this signal

Think sky really need to get cracking on this, it's constantly up and down

Sounds like the kind of thing you get when cables aren't quite capable of carrying the high bitrate signal cleanly.

Re: Sound dropout on main event

The only thing you can do is to select channel 402 and when prompted select uhd.. it will work fine.. as for 401 main event channel this needs sorting

Re: Sound dropout on main event

Hi

appreciate the response but I can assure you this is not cables my end, they're all high end ones

when this first starting happening a month or so ago I had an engineer out who agreed

As others have mentioned it was working ok for a period but seems to be playing up a bit

I do understand that the tv's have less problems when set to 5 bit visual but like others I want HDR 10 bit to work properly as advertised by Sky

the dips in sound seem to be issue for a number of us and I really hope it can be improved quickly
