We have a problem with our relatively-new SkyQ box - which is connected to a Samsung UE40EH5000.
Both TV and SkyQ box are turned off with the SkyQ remote at the end of the evening.
Some hours later, and some nights, the SkyQ box wakes itself up, and turns the TV on as well - and starts playing whatever channel it was last viewing.
This is startling - escpecially as it happens between 1am and 4am - while we're trying to sleep.
I was told that I could fix this by disabling 'CEC' n the TV and the SkyQ box.
I've just spokent to Samsung support who say that CEC disable is not supported on the TV - so can it be done on the SkyQ box - and, if so, How?
Thanks
Adrian

Hi @Glassman In settings on the SKYQ box change the power save mode from Eco, to either Active or off.
Eco mode turns the SKYQ box off in the early hours, then turns back on around 6:00am which may be why it turns your TV on?

@Quoman7
Thanks for the answer. I did try that a few night ago and it didn't seem to make any difference.
Last night I went into Setting | Setup | A-V and turned HDMI Control 'off'.
The SkyQ box slept through the night <grin> - but we'll give it a few more days before we claim it as a 'fix' - and I don't know what other side-effects this will have on general TV ./ SkyQ operation...
Thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThat will definitely work but why it's turning itself on after it goes into deep sleep is bizarre.
Also Samsung have to be wrong. Every TV I've ever seen has the option to turn off CEC. They call it AnyNet if I recall correctly.
