Hello! I have a SkyQ box and a mini via satellite dish (although switching over to fibre broadband today if the engineer ever arrives!)
I watch TV into the early hours as I have insomnia caused by a chronic pain condition. Anyway, every night without fail my mini box in my bedroom drops the signal. This means I have to go downstairs (which is problematic due to mobility issues and why I got the mini box in the first place). The main box has a red light on it and takes a while to start up again. Once it starts, the connection is resumed and I can go back upstairs and continue watching my programme.
I googled this and it said it was to do with eco settings automatically shutting down the box between 02:30 and 05:45. The fix apparently was to go into the settings and take off the eco setting. I've done this on both boxes and last night it still cut off at 02:45am. Eye roll.
So for clarity, this is what I have set to at the moment:
Standby Mode : None
Smart Standby Mode : Off
This is a royal pain in the rear. Does anyone have a fix please? Thank you kindly 🙂

Hi @NicJ
Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.
Then double check that standby mode on each Q box is set again to None.

Hi @oldfella and thanks so much for your response. The engineer has just arrived so I'll definitely give this a go when he's gone. Fingers crossed it works🤞

Re: SkyQ & Mini switching off at 02:45am every night
Hi @NicJ If you don't find a suitable solution, then I would research some suitable smart plugs. I use Tapo P110s with the added bonus of monitoring the energy consumption. I also use Amazon Echos, so from the comfort of my bed, I simply say "Echo, turn off/on the SkyQPlug". Or you can use the Tapo App or whatever smart plug App you opt for.

Re: SkyQ & Mini switching off at 02:45am every night
Hello again @oldfella
Tonight's the first night I've been awake past 02:45am and so far so good. My sky mini box hasn't lost connection / dropped me out of my programme! Hoping it stays that way 🙏
Thanks so much for your help 🙂
