I've taken up the AppleTV offer of 6 months trial then £8.99/month offer. However, it seems I am tied to accessing AppleTV *only* via the SkyQ Apps menu - i.e. I cannot access AppleTV using the AppleTV app on any other TV connected device or the TV app Hub itself.
If I am paying monthly for AppleTV then under what account am I gaining access? If I am stuck accessing AppleTV which I am paying full price for only from my SkyQ set-top box then what's the point? I may as well cancel the subscription and go direct with Apple instead and have the ability under my Apple ID to access AppleTV accross any of my devices (TV attached or not).

The free six months is not restricted to just the Sky Q box. If you activated the offer with your existing AppleID then the expiry date of the free trial should show up under your subscriptions. You can login to any Apple TV+ or Apple TV app on any device with your Apple ID and access the Apple TV+ service. I've done this both when I had a Q box and more recently with Stream. I've had two free six month offers and both activated fine and allowed me to use the service on other devices.

@Mr+Marcus I redeemed the offer using my Samsung Phone you aren't locked into one device To redeem the offer you need an Apple ID and a valid debit card and a mobile device to receive codes if you have set up 2FA.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I will check my Apple ID usage hsitory. Ideally then if I login to AppleTV on any of my other devices I should be able to continue accessing AppleTV full subscription services - any device?

Correct.
Any device which has the Apple TV or Apple TV+ app you can login to with your AppleID and access the full Apple TV+ service if you've activated the free trial. This might be your smart TV, a mobile phone, tablet, Firestick, Apple TV 4K box, Roku streaming stick, etc.

All sorted now - thanks for help guys. As a family account (aka kids using my ID) the tinkers changed associated email addresses to theirs. Took me a short while to figure things out and get connected - account now added to my Google TV Chromcast dongle. Best thing I've bought for a while.
