Re: Sky tv loses Internet connection

FWIW, my connectivity problems were caused by a faulty fast ethernet switch with lights showing a intermittent activity. Changed it for another unmanaged switch and all internet and mini box issues cleared.

Re: Sky tv loses Internet connection

there had to be a reason it's doing this.  If Sky can't fix it then you'll be free to leave without penalty since you aren't getting what's being paid for

Same here.  We are Virgin too.  Never had any problems with Sky Q until last few months.  No internet in morning - other times trying to connect to my neighbours internet.  Nothing wrong with Virgin Modem as all else working but it's reset more times than I've had hot dinners Sky Q and tv been unplugged - various cables renewed.  Everything possible had been done but still getting problems.    Hubby has until oct 26 on his contract to run. No way are we paying that for **bleep** or no service

It's not trying to connect to your neighbour's wifi. This is a common misinterpratation of the SKYxxxxxx wifi network that sometimes appears. It's actually the Q's own mesh.

As I always say on these threads, use powerline adapters (or full ethernet, or a wifi mesh with hard wired connections for the sky boxes) or deal with a lot of emotional pain.
