Sky q turn on tv

My sky q remote turns off my bush tv and does the volume,  but won't turn the tv back on, can anyone help please

Turn on HDMI control / CEC in the TV amd Sky box menus.

What TV do you have? 

on the sky box make sure this is turned on;

Setrings -> Setup -> Audio Visual -> HDMI Control

Thank you for trying to help me,  yes I checked the setting is on on the sky, settings,  and like I say it turns off and does the volume no problem,  but will not turn it back on . My tv is listed below

Turning off and the volume do not use HDMI-CEC

They just use direct infra-red from the remote to the TV.

What model TV is it? I can help find the exact menu option you need to turn it on at the TV side. Both devices need it enabled.

btw if the TV is off and you hold down the power button on the sky remote that should also use IR to directly turn the TV on, but having it done automatically via the sky boc waking up with a single press, which needs this option working, is easier/better.

IF I do a short press on the sky remote power button it turns off the sky (as expected), if I do long press on sky remote power button it turns off the TV, But if I then do short press on the sky power button it turns the sky back on(as expected) but if do long press on the sky button,  nothing happens and I have to use the TV remote just to turn the TV back on, so frustrating.

You've made sure CEC is enabled for that HDMI input?

Yes it says CEC Enabled,  I would send photos but can't see how to add to the message

Hmm. Very strange then that the TV does not come on when the Sky box does. I don't think that's an option, it just does it, as I recall.

Well like I say, those two operations work differently. The off is via the IR from the remote when you hold the power button down for a couple of seconds. The On is via this hdmi communication between the Q box and the TV when you just press the button once to switch the Q box on.

sounds like your TV isn't accepting that wakeup call.
