Re: Main Sky Q box keeps freezing

We are starting to see the same problem, box connected to Wi-Fi, same Wi-Fi (talk talk). If we end up with a new box, what happens to the films and programs saved to the hated drive? Can they be transferred to the new box?

Re: Sky q issues

Yes I have powered down and re-started but frankly that does not make any difference as it keeps doing this I wonder if the sky q box is slowly dying?

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

I got through to a rep at Sky this morning and it was all due to a Sky Q update that went through which was obviously corrupt.  Between 9pm and 11:20pm the boxes kept on going into standby mode but had to be rebooted to get them the boxes to work.  They rolled back the update and it all started to work properly from 11:20 pm.  But I said that's no good to me as we couldn't actually watch tv properly and demanded compensation.  Watch this space.  But the outgoing message on the 150 says they will send you a text message and update you they haven't and nor have they updated the website.  The call centre wasn't aware until they opened their mailboxes and read back what happened or at least it felt like it.  I am watching a movie for 30 minutes to make sure that the issue has been resolve!

So poor, but you've saved me the stress of trying to call them.  It's so hit and miss on the customer service and you could be on a call for a long time only to get nowhere

Unread posts on crashing box

Sky Q box stopped working properly yesterday. After lots of fiddling, unplugging, re-plugging - all the usual malarkey - I came to Sky site to find help. Surprised by how many other users experienced the same issue on 16th May and that they are all flagged as 'unread'. Does Sky not look at these posts to see where problems are? Why can't any of us get an answer on the technical issues line? I've no doubt they're busy, judging by the number of people with problems on the same day.

All we want to know is what's going on with out Sky Q boxes, and why can't we get an answer when we try to contact you? We're not all technical experts and software engineers out here in the real world, you know!

Re: TV is still not working

I',m so pleased to see all the comments about the issues with Sky Q last night.  I had to re-boot mine 4 times and then gave up and watched SkyGo on my computer.  Tried numerous times to get through to Sky but the same message as last night stating they are having a few issues and will be up and running again soon is still playing.  Will we get compensation on our bills for this inconvenience?

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

Where is the acknoweldgement from Sky? I can't find it anywhere! My immediate thought was that they were experiencing some sort of cyber incident - there seem to be a few going on in the UK at the moment!

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

I was up until around midnight, can confirm my sky q boxes was still not working. It only started working around 7ish. But it's not the point, too many people have been affected by this outage.

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

I started one of these threads last night. Hundreds of replies,

I did a full reboot this morning. Unplugged Sky Q box and TV at wall. Waited five minutes. Plugged back in.
Hopefully all seems okay.
