Hi
o spoke to several people at sky about this
the answer back was the same, the actual sky Q box itself cannot handle high speed downloads
not sure it I was being fobbed off or not.

What's "high speed"? I get UHD movies downloading quick enough to start watching within 30 seconds (as mentioned before) but I doubt it can pull > 100Mb

I have 500 download speed
i can watch the movie pretty much instantly, but the complete film takes about 10 mins
inwas expecting it to download completely a lot quicker

Then yours is plenty fast enough. They won't have designed the service to run at super high speeds which are quicker than someone can watch playback because that costs more to meet peak demand (500Mb x 1million people downloading when a big title or the latest GoT is released for example would be a LOT of bandwidth needed)

Im having issues my phone and laptop and Xbox can get 60mbs over WiFi and ethernet. But the sky q uhd box gets max speed of 5mbs no higher. Can anyone assist? I've tried direct WiFi connection and mesh connection I've even set up a standalone 2.4ghz connection on my router that only the sky q box connects to.

We've got this problem too, have had it for a few weeks despite having no problems in the past.

It's strange how it's all started suddenly . I had no issues before either

You can use the netflix app, even without an account to check the speed going to the box. I have a 70mb connection the box was only getting download speeds or 2/5mbs. So was the mini box. I had to get an engineer in as nothing had solved it.
The engineer had to bring a sky WiFi router wire it to my broadband to trick the sky q box into thinking I have a sky internet connection. Now the sky q box is getting 60mbs so happy days. I also got the box replaced as it kept losing connection.

@Omega could you tell me how they managed to trick the box please. I have this same issue since changing ISP. I get 200+Mbps to all devices on my network but only around 30Mbps at best to my sky box.

Open the Netflix app on your sky q box. Go to get help.
Scroll down to check network then it'll run a test of netflix servers and the final check is the connection speed.
So what the engineer did was get a sky router from his van he then connected that to my router using ethernet cable. So the sky router now gets fast speeds as it's direct. Then the sky router has it's sky SSID. Which the sky q box connects to thinking I'm actually on a Sky WiFi and that gives sky q the good speeds. One thing to note sky q only works on 2.4ghz speeds and not 5ghz.
Hope the above helps you all.
