Sky q or sky glass?

I've been a sky customer since it was called bskyb or something like that! We've had sky Q for some time and like the size of the hard drive for recordings.

We've been offered glass for the same price no fees at all and I'm concerned about previous teething problems I've heard about.

Our broadband on three sits around 60mb/s and the virgin which peaks at about 120 but drops out a lot.

Should we be thinking of switching?

What would be your reason to switch?

Glass television sets are now three years old but retail for more than they did at launch which is basically unheard of in the market: you'd be paying a very high price over the next two or four years for hardware which wasn't exactly outstanding at the time.

An OLED or mini-LED set from last year used with a Stream puck is likely to be better in almost every way for around the same cost.

Without absolutely reliable internet (and local WiFi) using either Glass or Stream is likely to be a fairly miserable experience compared to Q.

@Nicky38 I priced up a similar TV for another thread which I didn't post.

It has the same or better specs as a 55" Glass, albeit without the "soundbar", but considering the TV came out at £279 with a 5 year warranty included and pay monthly available, you could afford to add whatever sound you like, or as already mentioned, buy an even better TV.

But I think you need to think a little more about how much you value real recording, as neither Stream or Glass do it in the way you know and understand with Q. Getting Stream to check out might be the only way for you to work out if this is right for you.

Personally, based on your post, I would be more worried about running Glass or Stream off of a 4G/5G connection or Virgin "that drops out a lot".

Both Stream and Glass really need a nice, clean, stable broadband connection to function correctly, which Q does not.
