Hi my sky box stopped connecting to my router 2 days ago , sent out new box and still not connecting 😭all check have been done and my broadband provider saying it's not their fault as all other devices are connecting ok , anyone help thanks

Hi @Elizabeth66
Assume this is your main Q box/
Have you carried out a Network reset.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router.
If you are on Sky broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

Main box yes , did all checks /resets
phoned sky , phoned my broadband provider
still not connected 😭all my other devices in house are connected but not my box
this only started 2 days ago so I'm baffled

I have also started having this problem with SkyQ and Three broadband. Did you find a solution?

I have sky broadband and having the same issue. Internet is working and all other devices are connecting but not my skyQ box.
So frustrating.

I had a visit from sky engineer who said it is a 3 problem, as 3 did an update and not compatible with Sky box.
Seemingly 'boffins' working on a fix. I have had this problem now for 8 days and still not fixed.

Sky Q not connecting to router for almost 3 weeks now; tried everything
The TV connects to Netflix, Prime but will not to Sky so problem with Sky and not TV

I got support from an engineer over the phone had to do a master reset.
They talked me through the process step by step. I suggest calling. This is a known problem.
Has been fine ever since.

I have done so many resets entered my router password and everything still nothing is happening.

3 broadband is not suitable for sky I had to go back sky as my internet provider , tried everything with 3 router just won't connect
connected for first 3 months then completely chucked it 😱

FWIW - I would suggest to anyone having any issue with WiFi and their Sky Q box to purchase something like WiFi Universal Extender . With this you can to connect your Sky Q box to the Universal Externder using the ethernet connection of the Sky Q box and then have the Iniversal Extender join your home WiFi network. You then go to the Network setup menu on the Sky Q box and change its network connection from WiFi to ethernet (you need to be in Expert mode, which is covered in other posts here).
This will completely do away with any WiFi issues on the Sky Q box, as it will use ethernet to connect to the internet istead of WiFi. The WiFI module of the Sky Q box is notoriously flaky and troublesome.
