My sky q box keeps disconnecting, when you ring up you go through the same reconnection process,I've done this about a dozen times still it keeps happening,I was on the phone for 25 minutes today before I put the phone down, obviously some problem with the boxes, all the other WiFi equipment we have is still connected,I'm going to cancel my contract as soon as it's over, although I've been with sky for over 3 years

Hi @Abu+j
Who is your Broadband supplier and what is the connection procedure you keep going through?
Also where is your Q box in relation to your router?

My provider is virgin, the router is 6 feet away from the mini box the procedure is what they go through when you ring up for help

Hi @Abu+j
If your mini is the issue then being 6 foot from the router is a detriment not a benefit.
The mini will not connect by WiFi to a 3rd party router. It will only connect to the WiFi from the main Q box

I've been a customer for over 3 years and this problem has only started in the past 6 months,if you go through the rigmarole of going through the steps to reconnect 9 time's out of ten it'll connect, some days it works with a problem other days it'll work for a bit , then loose connection, we'll have to do the process again and so on,really frustrating

Hi,the main box is in the front bedroom, the mini box is directly underneath in the living room,so not far for the WiFi signal to go through the ceiling

Personally I gave up on wifi. (Mine are further apart) and use powerlines for the minis to connect to the Q.
And a wifi mesh to connect the Q to the router although in your case that seems like it should be overkill.

Hi mate, tell you how bad it is,just came back from the town, put sky on,guess what, needed to reconnect to main box, again, roll on September

Hi all,the minibox has disconnected again, from reading some of the other comments, I can't be the only one with this problem, someone must have a permanent solution to this

Mine is exactly the same.
Had it for a good few years now with no issue up until a few month back.
Nothing had changed in terms of router, positioning, new tech.
I'm with BT FTTP and tried wifi straight from router, tried wholehome discs and tried a Deco mesh system turning mesh on and off for the Sky Q boxes.
The boxes connect to each other fine but no internet to them, sometimes its on and then it will just disconnect randomly.
I've an engineer coming out soon so hopefully its just a faulty box but im not holding my breath.
I've gave up resetting it now, its a proper PITA.

The mini boxes do also randomly disconnect so there no sky cahnnels available i've been told 🙁

So far we've reset the boxes 3 times today, sky sent a text to receive feedback on the last call I made to them about this, needless to say I gave them a very good feedback...........NOT

Plug the Q into the back of a WH disc or Deco node. It will then piggyback that wifi and be stable and 10x faster.
You will probably need to do the same with the minis and turn off wifi on all of them.

Thanks , that would be the obvious fix but I dont want to use a wired connection nor have i ever since getting Sky Q around 6 years ago.
I should'nt have to do that for it to work and it . Wireless connectivity was the main reason i changed to Sky Q.
As i say though, everything has worked fine up until a couple of months ago.
