Sky q mini won't connect but the connected wire looks damaged

Sky q mini box won't connect, the message on screen is 'you're not conncted to a Sky Q box right now'. In setting is it both showing no connection to Sky Q box and no connection to network. 

we have reset both main and mini box. We have reset router boosting the signal. Still not working. 

I followed the cable outside that connects the two and it looks damaged - poss chewed by a mouse. 

If this is the problem I will defo need an engineer support, but i can't get through to the helpline, it refers me here each time. Please advise.
