Recently moved mini q to new location and now can't see channels. Can see Home Screen and recordings but can't watch them. All settings been rebooted and connection to main box and internet all ticked. Get Technical Issue text on the screen. Not sure what more I can check? Any help welcome!

Hi @Bushy10
First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)
note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.
Reboot the mini as above.
If the mini still does not connect try a Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).
If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button.
Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

Thanks @oldfella
I've reset several times. I'm not on sky bb and connected via Ethernet.
I don't see the WPS option during set up as it goes straight to step 4 and connects to my router automatically
is there something I need to do in before rebooting? Signal from Q box won't reach location.many thanks

What is connected by Ethernet and to what @Bushy10 ?

@oldfella Internet into Ethernet splitter. Main box into Ethernet splitter. Ethernet link from splitter to an access point and then mini from the AP!

Thanks @oldfella
it is 'hard wired' from the AP. Presume this is same as WiFi? Will Q booster help even though I don't have sky BB?
thanks again

Hi @Bushy10
You say
Internet into Ethernet splitter. Main box into Ethernet splitter. Ethernet link from splitter to an access point and then mini from the AP!
If you have Ethernet from Switch to Access point and also Ethernet from mini to Access point how are both Ethernet cables connected to the AP?

Hi @Chodley haven't turned Wi-Fi off on either. It was connected via power line before. I've tried in new room and the power line is working (thought it was on different ring main but obvs not). Bit jerky tho. Will turning Wi-Fi off allow me to use router (being used as WiFi booster) in new room?
many thanks

Hi @oldfella
@I've set up a router in new room but using it as booster for WiFi. It has rj45 sockets and I've used one of them for mini box. It is connected via Ethernet to the 'main' router
many thanks

Hi @Bushy10
Your connections are too diversified.
if your main Q box is connected by Ethernet to your Router then it's best to connect the mini by Ethernet to your router.
This should be quite simple if have the router/booster connected by Ethernet and also have the mini connected by Ethernet to the booster router. Just forget about the booster router and connect the two Ethernet cables together..
if you have all Q boxes connected to your main router by Ethernet then you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.
Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
Immediately as soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go immediately into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAs long as the networks are bridged the physical layer doesn't matter. In theory.
What won't work is the sky self-managed mesh on wifi (non-skybb) with a mini trying to join it via ethernet to the router.
