Hi all,
I will keep this simple.
I have sky broadband FFTP 500mb
I have a sky q main box connected by ethernet to my sky hub.
I have four sky mini boxes all connected by ethernet.
This was all setup by sky engineer.
Aim: To use the mini boxes as hotspots!
I have noticed that on my main sky q box the wifi is switched off. (Engineer menu)
In addition two of four sky q mini boxes have the wifi switched off. (Enginner menu)
On this basis, as the main sky q box has the wifi switched off does this mean the minis will not be acting as hotspots even though the whole system is hard wired?
Even though the sky q minis are hard wired to ethernet do they need their individual wifi switched on for them to act as hotspots?
Any advice/confirmstion gratefull👍🏻

Nope, they are all still the same hardware.
If you want to make the most of that connection on other devices you should look at a more modern WiFi mesh.
Leave the Q mesh to just service TV across the system.

Yes they do: WiFi switched off is all WiFi.
Also note that the now antique (2016) Mini box WiFi can only sling a fraction of that kind of broadband speed: for a start they only have 100Mbs ethernet chips and will only broadcast 2.4Ghz.

Thank you.
So main box (hard wired) wifi switched on.
All my sky q mini (hard wired) wifi switched on.
I got my sky q box and all mini in 2022 so guess they are different than the 2016 version?
Appreciate your help 👍🏻
