My box records programs but they are always corrupted, the play back pauses and is distorted as well as the message " Software Issue" displayed on the recording description, anyone have any ideas

Probably hard drive-related: if you log a fault with Sky they will swap the box out by courier.
Remember to remove the viewing card before handing the box over.
