Sky q broadband only

Moving house, got to wait around 10 days for a dish to be fitted, can I use the Q box on broadband only while I wait? I'm still paying the subscription so still have an account. I tried unplugging the F types and it seems to work but wondered if after a certain time it would stop? Thanks.

No, the Q box needs a satellite signal to keep the box alive, you can use Sky Go in the meantime.

hi @Goldfish750

You may be lucky - as @GD1 says it does need a periodic signal via Satellite to keep it alive but it may last a few days without a signal before it shuts down
