Sky q box won't download
My sky q box won't download anything. I've checked I've got the latest updates & I have. I've changed my preferences to SD, as I saw someone suggest that, but still nothing. Please help!

Can you give an example of exactly what you are trying to Download?

Hiya, thanks for replying. If I try to download from catch up, on demand, sky cinema, anything at all, a message comes up saying 'due to a technical issue, your download couldn't be completed. Please try again later'

Assume you have already tried rebooting your Q box?
Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Hi @Dramaqueen2
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)
note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

I had the same problem and it went away when I changed the DNS address. Definitely worth trying if you have no issues with other services like Apple or Netflix.
From what I understand this is quite a common problem with Sky and non-Sky Routers.
You need to go into the settings page and select Network Connection then Network Setup. On the next page go down to Advance Settings and then Edit. Go down to DNS Server and enter 8.8.8.8, then press confirm. Might need to restart the box.

I've had all the same issues since once November
wont down load
after 8 engineer visits broad band and tv
3 new hubs
2 new sky boxes
new ip address and viewing card all leads too.
very conversations with TAPS changing all server settings and still nothing.
latest guy after two hrs was lost for words with working with sky for over 20 years !!!!
any update or feedback would be great
