Sky mini box will no longer connect to broadband and doesn't work
My Sky mini box will no longer connect to broadband and TV/stream doesn't work. Two calls with sky engineers, they asked us to try multiple resets which we have done. Still not working.
Issues;
1) Sometimes picture just cuts out to blue screen, no text or picture
2) Cuts to blue screen with un able to connect to broardband at the top of the screen
3) Starts to connect to a channel then the picture stops / starts and returns to either item 1 or 2
4) Starts Home screen / main menu with unable to connect to broardband
Issue started Chrismas Eve, and has conintued throghout (Christmas day no signal at all)
Current situation is Sky have said they cant fix the issue but will send someone in a week!
Anyone know any work arounds? Hard wire mini box to router etc..??

Hi @RossDG
Mini boxes using WiFi will only connect directly to Sky Routers.
On 3rd party Broadband the minis must connect to the WiFinof the main q box using WPS

Thanks @oldfella the wifi network, including boosters, throughout the house are all from Sky / Sky broardband. They are less than a couple of years old.

Without knowing the exact layout of your Q boxes and boosters (assume they are Q WiFi boosters) it's difficult to help. You don't have the Sky Max router do you?

Hi @oldfella the main sky router is a SR203 located on the same floor but two rooms away, the booster nearest the mini box is an SE210A and its 2m away from the mini without any obstrucitons. Any help is greatly apprecaited.

Where is your main Q box located in relation to the router and mini?
Also other SE210A boosters?

Hi @RossDG
Thinking about your devices I would suggest the following.
First reset all Q boosters.
Hold RESET on the back of the boosters for 10 seconds or until the power light flashes. Wait until the power and wireless lights turn green,
Then reset your Sky broadband router by holding the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try connecting the nearest Q device.
If it is a Booster
- Hold the WPS button on the booster for 3 seconds until it flashes amber. Then hold the WPS button on the side of the router for 3 seconds until it flashes amber - You'll need to do it within 2 minutes.
- After a few minutes, the connected light on the booster should turn green when connected.
If the nearest device to the router is your main Q box then carry out a Network Reset on the main Q box.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router.
On Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
Proceed to correct next nearest device.
If connecting a booster, first press the WPS button the booster to be connected and then press the WPS button on any already connected device (ie booster or main Q box).
When you come to connect a mini carry out a Network reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with nearest connected device. You will be asked to press the WPS button on the nearest device (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).
