Yes, just plug all the boxes into the routers (node is just another way to dicribe the extra routers)
Turn all the boxes off and start with you main sky q box and set to wired connection.
Then do the mini boxes one at a time.
I did find it kept changing to wireless connection doing the setup so you might have to keep checking you main box as your doing it bit keep with it and it will work.

Hi @oldfella thanks for the reply.
So could I have all boxes connected to internet via WiFi (including main box) and then just plug the mini in the summer house directly into the main box via ethernet?
So nothing will be connected to the router via ethernet. The only ethernet connection will be from mini in summer house to main sky Q box.
Thanks.

Hi @Smithaam thanks for reply.
So I presume the main sky Q box will have to be plugged directly into the router via ethernet for this to work?

Unfortunately you need have it all wired! So your main box will have to be wired as well as all mini boxes.

Ok thank you. At least there is a workaround. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it at all in the summer house. I asked sky for a sky stream box as that would work instantly but I'm not allowed as I've already got sky Q. Laughable!

I've just thought... Does this need to be on the same electric circuit to work? My summer house has a different circuit board.

Yes @lpardoe
That's the only option you have

No not at all, as long as all your routers work as they should as that's the system it uses.
30 Jul 2024 07:04 PM
I'm sure it all has to be connected one way or the other! I tried a mix of wireless and ethernet and that never worked!

I'm just wondering how the ethernets connect to each other around the house if it's not on the same electrical circuit. I'm thinking with my power line adapter head on

so the Router is connected to the Internet then the nodes are connected over WiFi to make the mesh.
You will have another node connected vire ethernet to the main router.
Now just connect each sky box to each router or node with an ethernet cable.

Ok thanks I'll give it a go !

As said before switch all boxes off and start with your main q box and set network vire ethernet!
Do the mini boxes 1 at a time, it may try and connect over WiFi again so keep going back to your main q box to make sure it's on ethernet setting 👍

I've done it today. You sir are an absolute legend. After sky telling me it's not possible, I'm now watching sky sports news down the bottom of the garden!
Thank you !!
