Re: Sky cuts off the end of NBA recordings

Dallas down by 2, 12.8 seconds to go, timeout, adverts start and the recording cut off.

Aparently, Luca Doncić scored a three pointer to put Dallas up by 1 point. Minisota had a shot to win in the dying moments but the shot rattled out and Dallas won.

It would have been amazing to watch that, Dallas are 2-0 up in the series, both games together the win margin totals 4 points. Really close games. Not getting to watch the closing seconds really is annoying.

Alas the Sky Guide cut off the recording again. 😔

@Ed-007

If this is still happening have you contacted TNT to complain?

So you don't think my suggestion is helpful to get to experience such things?

Re: Sky cuts off the end of NBA recordings

I'm not a TNT Customer, I'm a Sky Customer. I tried getting in touch with TNT Sports but they passed me back to Sky. It's the Sky Guide recording that's not working.

It's one of those classic incompetences between two corporations. Sky blame TNT Sports but won't contact them to fix it. I can only contact Sky who got me to reset my box (like I had not done that myself) which did not fix the problem.

The problem is likely that TNT Sports are giving Sky's Guide the wrong timings. The only people who could fix it are Sky and TNT Sports but I'm a customer of one who blames the other but won't contact their supplier to fix it.

This forum is my only hope that someone in control will see it and just fix it because it's likely a 5 minute fix if you talk to the correct person.

The correct person isn't anyone on Sky's technical area who didn't have a clue. They are a bit Post Office, our system couldn't possibly be broken, it must be you mr Customer.

Rock and a hard place.

The viewer relations email is THE way to get Sky to know about, and possibly do something about problems like this, which you've tried.

I appreciate it would be great if this got fixed but personally I would take control of my own problem. Rock and a hard place and an "accept that big companies are often bad or slow at fixing less critical problems especially if more than one of them is involved and live with a workaround which is a bit of a pain but actually get to watch the ends of the matches." option.

also, does TNT via Sky not get you access to the full streaming replays?

You keep on saying you are not a TNT sports Customer but how are you watching TNT Sports via the Sky Q box

It's less than a five minute fix you obviously pay Sky for your TNT subscription so have you thought about watching NBA replays via

Discovery+ or am I  reading your post wrong and you don't get Discovery+ Premium via Sky?

No workarounds just common sense if the recordings aren't working for you watch it another way.

Just cause you pay Sky make sure that other options are available before you blame either one or the other.

It's called Discovery+ @Chodley which @Ed-007 could watch replays on his Sky Q box via the Discovery+ app he's obviously paying for TNT sports so he should get Discovery+ Premium via Sky?

Re: Sky cuts off the end of NBA recordings

I'm actually paying monthly for Disney, Netflix, Prime and we have three Apple TVs, all of which is much cheaper than Sky at £130 per month.

I really don't watch a lot of recorded stuff on Sky anymore, the rest of the family don't watch anything on Sky, most of the stuff we watch is on streaming services. So the idea of watching it on Discovery+ is perfect.

Most of the stuff on Sky is HD wheras the other services we have are all 4K which all our TVs support.

I can ditch Sky altogether and stream the NBA and not worry about recording anything or it being cut off.  Discovery+ isn't even the only service that has NBA, in the UK.

I think this discussion has made my mind up, maybe watching and recording is a thing of the past and streaming wins out. It's probably going to save me a lot of money too, Sky at £130 a month translates into a lot of other streaming services and a lot less stress.

Fair comment @Ed-007 TNT sports have the 2023-2024 season after that it's how much money is laid on the table

Also watching via Disney+ and Amazon could become an option too

Re: Sky cuts off the end of NBA recordings

This happened on the recent highlight for boxing Beterbiev vs Bivol. had t watch all the extended adverts between rounds and when it came to the end of the fight the acutal result/ score card was cut off. This was for the 9pm showing on the actual SKY highlights on SKY stream. Very annoying!

What is the resolution for this?

Re: Sky cuts off the end of NBA recordings

NBA season is about to start next week. Could we please get a Sky representative to look into this and RESOLVE this before another season of unacceptable recordings.

@Ryan996

If this is scheduled to be on TNT see the post marked as the answer particularly:

TNT Sports is responsible for it's own broadcast and we have no say to when recordings start and finish as they dictate this with the length of the program submitted to us for the EPG (The TV Guide).
