Sky couldn’t fit a replacement dish

Hi,

Sky signal failed 5 weeks ago. Contacted support who booked an engineer to visit to replace dish. Engineer arrived and said he couldn't do it and that he'd called his boss and we'd be contacted in 48hrs to arrange for the special access team to come out.

No call was received, I called again and rearranged some 2 weeks later. Special access team arrived and said they couldn't do it!

I've now had to pay for a reputable local company to come and fit a new dish (took them 30 mins) and had to pay for the privilege.

How can I claim this back from Sky?

Thanks.

You can raise a complaint and see what result that gets. The 2nd booking and failure to install again does seem ridiculous.

If a job is outside the scope of Sky safe working practice even for a special access team then they have to refuse.  An independent installer can operate on somewhat more 'flexible' standards.

Not so easy taking your shoes and socks off in a voting booth and doubling over to get your foot up to tick the box.

@Kerry29

You could also have problems in the future whereby Sky won't carry out any maintenance/repairs on your dish if you encounter signal issues as their H & S policy won't allow them to and again you'll have to engage a local satellite company at your own expense.
